La Chaumière

A hotel low light to me, sorry folks. As someone else remarked already, the pictures on their website give you a wrong impression of the hotel. I am sure it had its charme at a time, but right now, besides the one brand new appartment they feature, everything else needs a makeover. It is absolutely over-priced for what it is, too. Our room smelt and felt humid, the bed sheets were dirty, the toilet dated back to the 80s with no possiblity to air or ventilate. Furniture was randomn (the bathroom was new in turn). We had room number 1 on the groundfloor close to the entrance at 268 EUR, you can get a much different standard for this elsewhere. The rest of the building is dark, there is dust, spider webs in your room and in public spaces. The outside is what I would call cluttered. Some really nice and quality installations next to artificial lawn, design lamps, non-fitting chairs, rotten wooden chairs and bridges in the garden, a tent, a trailer, more artificial lawn. The restaurant was the highlight, its interior definitely has a charme and is better than the rest. Staff are nice there too and food is good. Again over-priced for what it is, but good.

What a lovely place to spend time with your loved ones! I had a very good time with my boyfriend here. It was such a wonderful place to feel completely relaxed. We stayed in the room in “Le Manoir” The room is so nice, clean, and comfortable with a beautiful sea view. The dinner is so romantic with the sunset view by the sea. Also the breakfast is so valuable, and there are so many nice choices. I recommend the croissant. So delicious and it’s not like anywhere else! Thank you so much, Louis and the team. We were having a nice time and everything is perfect. I hope we see you again soon!

We were excited to stay here in June until COVID-19 hit. We reached out to the hotel directly about our nonrefundable stay as a result of our need to cancel due to an inability to travel to Europe due to the virus. After responding and offering to allow us a credit, they waited until the night of our stay, called us and told us we had not cancelled, and then accused us of causing them to stay up until 1 am waiting for us. Not only was it clear from the EU's ban on US travelers that we weren't coming, we presented the correspondence from the hotel with our cancellation and offering the credit and they still refused to acknowledge it. Money down the drain and an overall terrible interaction.
